Petrol Marketers dissuade motorists from panic buying

The Association of Credit Marketers of Petroleum Products in Nigeria (ACMPPN) has urged motorists in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) not to engage in panic buying of petrol.

The President of the Association, Mr. Francis Nwoga at a briefing in Abuja disclosed that there are enough products to go round petrol stations in Abuja.

He stated that there is no reason for the queues as almost all stations have fuel and are selling. He added that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC is doing well to ensure the petroleum products are supplied and has enough storage to last thirty days even if there were genuine scarcity

The Secretary General of the group Olusuyi Otitoju also said that the recent flood crisis in Lokoja has affected distribution as there are delays in arrival of trucks but the situation will be resolved in a few days.

Olusuyi added that tankers are lifting fuel at all the depots including the private ones and each filling station gets at least three truck loads daily. He disclosed that fuel was lifted in Kaduna on Tuesday and about 50 to 70% coming from the South is consumed in Abuja.

He called on motorists not to buy black market as the fuel is adulterated.
